Patient Benefits
A Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program ID authorizes qualifying patients and caregivers access to medical cannabis at dispensaries, like ACS. Massachusetts allows qualifying patients, who suffer from debilitating medical conditions, to possess a 60 day supply of cannabis. Following these 3 easy steps can help Bay State residents access medical-grade products, patient-only programs, and special discounts on cannabis. The Patient Handbook, below, was created by ACS staff members as a printable informative resource.
1
Consult with a Certifying Physician or Nurse Practitioner
Qualifying patients, with a debilitating condition, must first obtain an electronic or written certification(s) from a registered Certifying Physician or Nurse Practitioner. This medical provider recommends the therapeutic use of medical cannabis in the state of Massachusetts. Remember to bring medical cannabis into the conversation with your healthcare providers. Be sincere in sharing information about your cannabis experiences, general wellness, comfort, and mental wellbeing.

Register with the Medical Use of Marijuana Program
After Patients are certified, an email from the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC) will be sent with a Patient PIN and instructions on how to register for the Medical Use of Marijuana Program. Patients will have to upload a MA state ID or passport with proof of state residency. Once registered, Patients may generate a Caregiver PIN, for program support, print out their temporary program ID and visit a medical dispensary.
Paper registration is available for those who are unable to register online, although it is a more lengthy process. Please call the Program at (833) 869-6820 to request a paper registration form. To enter the Medical Use of Marijuana Online Portal for Adult Patients, Pediatric Patients, and Caregivers, click here. Once registered, patents and caregivers may print their temporary program ID card to access medical dispensaries.
