With ACS for 4 years, Andrew had a recent “New Beginning” when he began his position as All Around Central Supply Go To. He’s taken to the role quickly, filling a much needed spot on our Team.
What do you enjoy about your role? From a personal enjoyment standpoint, I love working with people from all over the company and outside vendors. I’m a social person and enjoy learning from and interacting with lots of different types of people. From a professional standpoint, I like the organizational and problem-solving aspects of Central Supply. Every day is a chance to learn something new or tackle a different part of the job.
What draws you to medical cannabis? The broad spectrum of beneficial applications and flexibility for patient use. I grew up in a medical family and have a lot of trust in the advancements of modern medicine including medicinal and therapeutic uses of marijuana. In my ideal world we could live with a balance of all the advancements medical research has learned about, including the beneficial uses of marijuana and how the endocannabinoid system can affect our bodies and minds.
What do you enjoy about your position? Or What is your favorite product to produce? Until very recently I was primarily producing pre-rolls. Of all the production related jobs in the industry that is my favorite so far. Now I’m more of an administrative or operational asset so I’m mostly producing order slips, recycling trips, and smiles.
As a patient, what products do you find helpful? How has cannabis helped you? I generally gravitate towards edibles and vaporizers. I medicate to help with sleep issues I’ve had since I was a teenager. I like edibles for the long-lasting effect. I can medicate as early or late as I want before bedtime and, if I choose, won’t even feel any of the effects because they start as I’m falling asleep and help me stay asleep through the night with no grogginess the next day.
What is something surprising about cannabis that someone who hasn’t consumed before might not know? In my experience, there tends to be a lot of confusion or misunderstanding about what happens when someone medicates with marijuana. It’s common to associate marijuana with getting incredibly high in a way that isn’t realistic but it’s what’s portrayed in movies and tv as a caricature or spoof. Many people medicate daily and don’t experience a psychoactive effect or don’t display any of the behaviors commonly associated with being high.
What are your favorite ACS products? Unflavored Nano Enhancer (so versatile), High dose mug cakes and mug muffins (so delicious), RSO truffles (so effective).
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time? I listen to music almost all of the time. If I can have music playing, I do have music playing. I also play lots of video games or watch tv to chill out. I love going out to new places to eat and drink. There’s a lot you can learn from the food and music of different cultures or geographic regions.
Anything else you’d like to add? Hopes/dreams for medical cannabis? I suppose my hope is for more communities to embrace or accept cannabis as a helpful element to have around. There is no singular “cure all” medicine but excluding something that can be medically beneficial because of a social stigma or misunderstanding is a disservice to our neighbors and communities.
